Type: 100% Equatorial Sativa
Overview
We’re proud to offer São Tomé Sativa, sourced from the remote island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe, off the west coast of Africa off the coast of Gabon, near the equator. This is a first-ever release from this region that we know of and the seeds were reproduced in-house directly from original local stock—with no modern hybrid influence and zero outside seed company involvement.
History & Background
Cannabis likely arrived on São Tomé via African or Portuguese trade routes generations ago. With the island’s geographic isolation and tropical climate, the plant adapted naturally over time, developing into a highly unique local expression. Very little is known or documented about cannabis on the island, making this a true preservation-grade cultivar.
Cultivation Notes
This is a true equatorial sativa that requires patience and space. Expect long internodes, tall vertical growth, and a flower cycle of 16 weeks or more. Plants thrive best in tropical or controlled indoor environments with room to stretch.
Ideal for:
- Landrace collectors
- Preservation growers
- Botanical explorers looking for rare, unworked genetics
- Breeders seeking unique traits
Important Notes
This is an untamed, unworked wild line, growers should expect variability and unique expressions from plant to plant. This is part of what makes landrace genetics so valuable and intriguing.
This is a rare chance to work with a cultivar that’s never been in circulation until now in seed form
